Both are excellent cooking materials that offers chemical free than many alternatives. However quick heating capabilities and smoother surface and it’s design in carbon steel tawa make it a favorite for both amateur cooks and culinary professionals.

It's crafted from Certified (IS8811:1998) Material - 99.45% Iron & <1% Carbon as per standards.

PRESEASON / CURING PROCEDURE

1. Wash it gently using mild liquid soap hot water (around 2 minutes) and pat try completely.

2. Fry slices of potatoes with lot of coarse salt. Throw away the cooked potato slices.

3. Reheat the pan (low to medium flame) with thin layer of edible vegetable oil until reaches smoke point. Once reaches smoke point, wait for another 2 minutes and then switch off the flame. Let the tawa cools completely. Wipe it off with soft cloth.

 

Repeat this step for 1 more time.

 

FOR IMMEDIATE "NEXT DISH" USE
1. After cooking one dish such as omlette (immediately you can cook another dish for ex: fish fry by simple wipe using soft cloth).
 

 

Recommended Hand Wash Only

 

WASH INSTRUCTIONS

1. Wash it gently using hot water within a minute for everyday cleaning. (Don't use any liquid detergent for everyday cleaning)
2. Pat dry (using soft cloth) completely.

3. Apply layer of edible oil (thin coating) to avoid rusting after every wash.

 

(OR) For more than a week, if you are not using and able to see rust on it. Please follow the below instructions -

 

1. Wash it gently using mild liquid soap warm water using soft or semi soft scrubber.

2. Pat dry (using soft cloth) completely.

3. Apply oil on top of the dosa (NOT OUTSIDE) tawa using edible oil (Sesame / coconut / groundnut).

4. Turn on the flame and let it heat it in low to medium flame until see the smoke comes from the pan. Wait for 1-2 minutes and then switch off the flame. Let the tawa cools completely.

5. Once it cool down to normal temperature, wash it again with hot water within a minute. Apply thin layer of oil.

6. Now your pan is ready to use.

 

NOTE: Remember to redo the seasoning when switching from cooking Non-Dosa items like chapati, paratha, or roti to Dosa varieties.
